New version 00020

Postby admin » Sun Nov 03, 2013 7:05 pm

After nearly 5 days of coding, the new version of zSILENCER is out.

Each and every tech item from the original game is now implemented and fully functional. Everything is better and I would say this version is probably more functional than the original ever was, no hack and run or checksum errors here.

At this point it is hard to think of what the original Silencer had that is missing?

ahh nice a new update

I can't believe you made this so quickly, but i have to commend you on the attention to detail and gameplay. i fired up the original the other day and could not find any differences when i played the tutorial missions, you even have the guy breathing when it sits in the rain.

One of the things though that I remember from the old game is the custom maps. Is there a way to create levels and have them come up in the lobby?

Hey thanks :D
You can use the original Designer.exe to create maps but I haven't coded in the map downloads between peers. It is however possible right now to load the map files you want to play on the server and just make sure everyone in session has the same file and you could play a custom map.

You can get the designer tool off the download page there on the bottom of it. I think there are some instructions bundled with it. I haven't personally tried making any maps though. You also might have to run it in compatability mode or something cause its the original windows 98 program.
